Tip of the Day

Today I remembered something that I want to share with my wonderful team, so I'll call it my tip of the day:  "Too much of a good thing is not a good thing anymore."  I have discovered that I love whole wheat bread, whole grain / high fiber crackers, and a "healthy" snack I grew up eating called energy balls.  Unfortunately, when I get going on any of the above, I cannot stop eating them and eventually consume way too many calories.  So I have to make sure I don't even have them in the house.  I made energy balls (a concoction of peanut butter, honey, wheat germ, and dry milk mixed together and rolled into 1" balls) yesterday, and I have eaten far too many of them today.  They are as good as dessert when I'm on a challenge.  I need to throw them away!  Hope you all have had more willpower than me today.

  2. I know! I can't make homemade bread or rolls - mmmmm! Way too tempting.
I want to post something but I can't figure out how to do it. I know I posted stuff on the blog last time but ... I just don't see a glaring sign that says, "POST HERE". I'll have to call Linds tomorrow and she can help me with my computer skills (or lack of).
Today Joseph saved my bacon. We were at scouts and Sister Dupuis handed me a cookie. Without even thinking about it I popped it into my mouth. My son said, "Mom! Are you aloud to eat sugar today?" Oops! Out came the cookie (very discreetly, mind you) and I was saved from losing any points. Whew!

  3. Kali,
So true. Excess just isn't good. I've always thought it was kind of silly to label foods "good" and "bad". It's really all about our behavior and how much we consume that is good or bad for us. Almost all food can contribute something good to are bodies if eaten in appropriate quantities (that's natural foods, not franken-foods).

Suzy, I would be happy to help you out.
